Welcome to the third installment of AMPLIFIED FRIENDS. Malcolm and Peter are back for a full year of music, stories, poets & performance. For the first episode of this school year, we feature three diverse duos from the New School, New York City and beyond.

First up is Flutronix. The classically trained electro-acoustic flute duet of Nathalie Joachim & Allison Loggins-Hall. They perform a few of their original compositions for us in the 8th floor studios of Arnold Hall.

Jay Rudolph and Ian Christiansen are two students from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music studying drums and saxophone, respectively. Together they form an improvisational duo, composing their songs on the spot.

Delerium is the hip-hop duo of rapper Francesco Muri and DJ Schuyler. The two students met in Boston while studying at the New England Institute for the Arts. They joined together to host a radio show on the school’s online station and began composing beats & rhymes shortly thereafter.  Here, Francesco lays down some freestyles over Schulyar’s beats & scratching.
